Q. What island is the Arizona Memorial on?

A. The USS Arizona Memorial and Pearl Harbor Visitor Center are located at Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu approximately 10 minutes from Honolulu International Airport. 

Q. How do I get to the Memorial by car?

A. FROM WAIKIKI: Take H-1 West. Continue past the Honolulu Airport. Take the Stadium/Arizona Memorial Exit 15A. Proceed to your far left lane and make a left turn at the fourth traffic light. Follow the green and white visitor signs to the Memorial. Get directions for driving (Google maps).

Q. How do I get to the Memorial using public transporation?

A. Honolulu public transit buses stop regularly near the visitor center and can be boarded in Waikiki. The #20 and #42 buses are the most direct lines. For more detailed information, please contact TheBus Information Office at (808) 848-5555 daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Get directions for public transportation (Google maps).

Q. Can I walk out to the Memorial?

A. The Memorial is only accessible by boat as it is in the waters of Pearl Harbor above the sunken wreckage of the USS Arizona

Q. Can I reserve tickets?

A. We currently do NOT take reservations for tour tickets. Tickets are handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis for that day’s tours only. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early as all available tickets may be dispensed by 12 noon.

Q. How long is the tour?

A.  The Memorial Tour is approximately 75 minutes long. This includes the 23 minute documentary film and the shuttle boat ride to and from the Memorial.

Q. Are strollers allowed?

A. Strollers are allowed in the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, but not in the theaters or on the shuttle boats to the USS Arizona Memorial. Visitors using strollers will be informed where to leave their strollers by the National Park Service before entering the theater.

Q. Do I have to come with a tour company?

A. Visitors do NOT have to come with a tour company. The Visitor Center and Memorial Tour are open to the public. You may visit by private vehicle, public transportation, or by taxi.

Q. Is there parking and how much does it cost?

A. There are two parking lots in front of the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center with ample handicap parking. Additional parking in front of the USS Bowfin next door, is also available to the public. Parking is FREE and visitors are encouraged to arrive early.

Q. Are the tours free?

A. Memorial Tour tickets and admission to the Visitor Center are FREE.

Q. Can I bring a camera?

A. Cameras are allowed, but camera bags are not. Camera bags are restricted along with purses, backpacks, fanny packs, diaper bags, and other luggage due to increased security measures.

Q. Can I drop a lei into the water at the memorial?

A. Leis cannot be dropped into the waters of Pearl Harbor from the Arizona Memorial as the string may become entangled on the USS Arizona wreckage below. However, visitors may drop loose flowers into the water.

Q. Is there an age restriction for the tour?

A. There are NO age restrictions for the Memorial Tour.

Q. Do I need to show an ID to take the tour?

A. Visitors do not need an ID to take the tour, but may need it to purchase items in the bookstore or snack shop with their credit card.
