PEARL HARBOR (March 19, 2026) – Pacific Historic Parks (PHP) invites the public to meet 100-year-old “Rosie the Riveter” Jeanne Gibson at Pearl Harbor National Memorial on Saturday, March 21, in recognition of National Rosie the Riveter Day.
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Gibson will greet visitors and sign commemorative Rosie posters at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center in front of the Pacific Historic Parks bookstore, offering a rare opportunity to connect with one of the last surviving women who supported the nation’s World War II home-front effort. Rosie the Riveters became a symbol of resilience, patriotism and expanded opportunity for women in the workforce.
At 18, Gibson worked as a welder building destroyers during World War II. She later earned her Ph.D., taught for 30 years, earned her private pilot license, and was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal honoring the Rosies’ contributions to the war effort.
“National Rosie the Riveter Day is an opportunity to honor the women who stepped forward during a pivotal time in our nation’s history,” said Aileen Utterdyke, president and CEO of Pacific Historic Parks. “Welcoming Jeanne to Pearl Harbor gives visitors the chance to connect directly with that history and the role these women played in supporting our country during World War II.”
Admission to Pearl Harbor National Memorial is free and open to the public.
