Who can be a volunteer?We welcome all ages, families, friends, community members and more to volunteer with us. Please note certain volunteer roles will be best suited for different ages, i.e. assisting in the Retail Store and in the Warehouse will be best suited for adults, but for events such as Flag Folding, all ages are welcomed to join. Flag Flying is the only restricted event closed to the public, reserved for active-duty military. Please email volunteer@pacifichistoricparks.org with any questions and for more details.

What do I wear?For our open volunteering events, please wear clothes you are comfortable in, civilian attire. For our regularly scheduled volunteers, you will be provided with a t-shirt and nametag. For Flag Flying Events, Class A Dress Uniform is required (Flag Flying is a reserved event for active-duty military). Please wear comfortable shoes as you may be on your feet for extended periods of time. Optional: Sunglasses and reef safe sunscreen is recommended when at Pearl Harbor National Memorial.

What do I need to bring?Feel free to bring a reusable water bottle with you, there are multiple water refill stations available. Please DO NOT bring bags with you into the park. Please visit the National Park Service Page here to learn more about bag restrictions.

Will food be provided?Food will be provided at Flag Flying and Folding Events. For regularly scheduled volunteers, meals are not provided. You are welcomed to bring food with you as long as it is in a clear, see-through bag or container that meets the National Park Service's bag restrictions. There is also a snack shop on site with sandwiches, snacks and drinks available for purchase.

Where do I park?Please coordinate with our Volunteer Coordinator to obtain a temporary parking pass. Once received, you will place the pass on your dashboard and will not need to pay for parking. When volunteering at a Flag Folding or Flying Event, a temporary parking pass will be provided to you after checking in.
