At Pacific Historic Parks, volunteers like you help keep historic sites such as Pearl Harbor National Memorial,
Diamond Head State Monument and Honouliuli National Historic Site thriving for future generations.
Whether you're guiding guests at our audio tour desk, assisting at the retail shop, helping visitors in the standby queue for the USS Arizona Memorial, or taking part in our flag folding ceremonies — every role makes a difference.

Help visitors fold their very own USA Flag that was flown at the USS Arizona Memorial. Guide guests through this meaningful experience and help them take home a lasting piece of history.

Join us for two special volunteer events in honor of fallen first responders and veterans, focused on environmental restoration and remembrance.
Saturday, September 13th: Keʻehi Lagoon Memorial
Help remove invasive species and plant drought-resistant native flora to revitalize this meaningful space.
Saturday, September 20th: Diamond Head State Monument
Support ongoing efforts to preserve Hawaii's unique natural ecosystems at one of the island's most iconic sites.

Honor Veterans Day in a truly memorable way at Pearl Harbor National Memorial. Active-duty military are invited to take part in USA Flag Flying at the USS Arizona Memorial, and volunteers of all ages can join in the flag-folding tradition afterward. Who can be a volunteer?Volunteers of all ages are welcome — including families, friends, and community groups! Some roles are better suited for specific age groups. For example, Retail and Warehouse support is typically for adults, while Flag Folding events are open to all. Please note: Flag Flying is reserved for active-duty military personnel only. Questions? What do I wear?For open volunteer events, wear comfortable civilian attire and shoes, as you may be standing for long periods. Regular volunteers will receive a t-shirt and name tag. For Flag Flying events (active-duty military only), Class A Dress Uniform is required. Sunglasses and reef-safe sunscreen are recommended, especially at Pearl Harbor National Memorial and Diamond Head State Monument.

What do I need to bring?We encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle — refill stations are available. Please note: Bags are not allowed in the park. For details, visit the National Park Service bag policy page.

Will food be provided?Meals are provided at Flag Flying and Folding Events. For regular volunteer shifts, you're welcome to bring your own food in a clear, see-through container that complies with NPS bag rules. A snack shop is also available on-site with food and drinks for purchase.
