PEARL HARBOR NATIONAL MEMORIAL AND DIAMOND HEAD STATE MONUMENT ARE CLOSED DUE TO TROPICAL STORM LALA

HONOLULU (Aug. 16, 2026) – In response to severe weather impacts related to Tropical Storm Lala, Pearl Harbor National Memorial and Diamond Head State Monument are temporarily closed to the public.

Pearl Harbor National Memorial, including the USS Arizona Memorial, is closed today, August 16. During the closure, USS Arizona Memorial programs, shuttle boat operations, narrated tours, virtual reality experiences and other visitor services operated at Pearl Harbor National Memorial are suspended.

Diamond Head State Monument is also closed today. Visitor access, reservations and related services at Diamond Head are suspended during the closure.

“Safety is the utmost priority,” said Aileen Utterdyke, President and CEO of Pacific Historic Parks. “We encourage residents and visitors to monitor official updates, follow emergency guidance and stay safe during this time.”
